The OKKO gas station network (Galnaftogaz Concern, Ukraine) has acquired 15 new fuel trucks and 2 gas carriers based on Scania tractors with tanks with a total volume of more than half a million liters. Thus, the fleet of vehicles for the transportation of petroleum products has increased to 134 units, which guarantees prompt and reliable fuel delivery for the OKKO gas station network, which is intensively developing. The company chose the supplier of new equipment based on the results of a rigorous tender selection, in which 8 manufacturers participated. Scania has convinced with its economical and operational performance.
“The last time we replenished the fleet of fuel trucks was in 2008, — said the head of the transport logistics department of Avtotranscom (the company is part of the Galnaftogaz concern) Pavel Pasichnik. “Since then, the gas station network has increased by more than 50 gas stations, sales volumes have increased and, accordingly, this has posed additional tasks for our logisticians.” With particular impatience, new fuel trucks are expected in the eastern regions of Ukraine, where the OKKO network has expanded significantly recently.
The main technological feature of the new tank trucks is that the tank semi-trailers of the Ros Roca brand (Spain) are made of aluminum, so they are almost 2 tons lighter than traditional steel ones. This is important, because, according to the current Ukrainian legislation, the total mass of the road train (tractor with semi-trailer) should not exceed 38 tons. Now, due to the reduction of the tanker’s own weight, it is possible to transport large volumes of fuel in one trip. Another significant advantage is that new tractors consume less fuel compared to others, even those that were purchased in 2007-2008.
“Today we offer our customers not only high-quality and reliable equipment, but a whole range of related services aimed at developing and increasing the profitability of transportation. In particular, within the framework of the agreement with the Galnaftogaz concern, we provided financing through the Scania Credit Ukraine company, which is part of the Scania group of enterprises. Also, service contracts were signed in the Scania network in Ukraine, an agreement was reached to conduct a training course for drivers of fuel trucks, — Commercial Director of Scania Ukraine LLC Andrey Dallakyan comments on the transaction. — The supply of fuel trucks for the OKKO gas station network is important for several reasons. During the tender, Galnaftogaz Concern set strict requirements for economical and operational characteristics of vehicles, and we are pleased that Scania trucks fully comply with the wishes and requirements of the customer. The network of OKKO filling stations is actively expanding, the volume of transportation is increasing, and we are confident that fuel tankers based on Scania tractors will help to increase the efficiency and profitability of transportation of petroleum products. We hope for further close cooperation and interaction.”
